Odaily Planet Daily reports that Telegram founder Pavel Durov delivered a speech at Blockchain Life 2025 in Dubai. He stated, “It has been over a year since my last visit to Dubai, and the world has changed a lot: Telegram has reached 1 billion monthly active users; I spent some time in Paris (referring to the arrest); three types of markets have exploded—(1) the market for social-related digital collectibles, (2) mini-apps, which have made some people rich while others have been scammed, and (3) AI. And we (Telegram) are positioned at the intersection of blockchain, AI, and social media.”
Durov believes that Telegram is the most suitable interface for interacting with AI. Because centralized AI service providers collect and manipulate user information, some people have realized they don't like being used by large AI companies. For this reason, Telegram will launch Cocoon (Confidential Compute Open Network) in November—GPU owners provide computing power to mine TONs, app developers can connect their apps to low-cost AI computing, and users can maintain their privacy while using AI products. Telegram is expected to generate demand and heated discussion surrounding Cocoon.
At the end of his speech, Durov called on the audience to stand up for their rights and freedoms.
