The U.S. Senate rejected the temporary funding bill for the 13th time, and the government shutdown will continue
2025-10-28 16:24

According to Odaily Planet Daily, the U.S. Senate failed again to pass a procedural vote, by a vote of 54 to 45, to advance the Fiscal Year 2025 Continuing Appropriations and Extension Act, which aims to end the government shutdown. The bill, passed by the House of Representatives, would temporarily restore government operations at current funding levels and requires 60 votes in the Senate to advance. This was the 13th vote on the bill, and it still fell short of the required threshold, meaning the government shutdown will continue. (Jinshi)
