The first camp, "responsible fintech," focuses on applications that are backed by real value, comply with regulations, and solve practical problems, such as tokenized funds and trade finance. Its user experience and value proposition will be closer to the high standards of traditional fintech.

The second camp is the "Wild West" DeFi, which will continue to maintain its highly speculative, regulatory evasion, and pursuit of absolute anonymity. It will continue to attract speculators, hackers, and libertarians.
