Odaily Planet Daily reported that chain analyst MLM pointed out in his personal channel that the credibility of the whale who sold over $4.23 billion worth of BTC to exchange for ETH is Garrett Jin, but some doubts were raised, including: why Garrett exposed his identity through the ENS domain name; why CZ personally posted to verify the authenticity. He used Binance, so KYC should be able to verify the information; and why a "working man" can own billions of BTC assets.

It is reported that some community users have previously called Garrett Jin one of the "culprits of the 1011 crash". In August and September of this year, the whale used a series of wallets to sell more than 35,000 BTC in exchange for ETH, and also conducted BTC short transactions. As of now, Garrett Jin still holds 46,295 BTC in multiple wallet addresses, worth US$5.19 billion.
