As the U.S. Congress returns to work after recess, legislation governing cryptocurrency market structure is poised to take center stage. The Senate Banking Committee is expected to mark up its market structure discussion draft by the end of September, while the Senate Agriculture Committee is also expected to release a draft covering CFTC regulation in the near future.
Senator Cynthia Lummis stated that she expects the Market Structure Act to be signed into law by President Trump before Christmas. Furthermore, the Small Business Administration has ordered banks to restore services to customers who were illegally "de-banked" and requires them to correct their policies by December 5th. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has also publicly acknowledged the abuse of its power against certain companies during the Biden administration. (CryptoinAmerica)
