US Treasury Deputy Secretary to step down after less than five months
3hours ago
According to the Wall Street Journal, sources familiar with the matter revealed that U.S. Treasury Undersecretary Michael Faulkender will leave the government less than five months after his Senate confirmation. Faulkender oversaw the day-to-day operations of the Treasury Department and briefly served as acting commissioner during a period of turmoil at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). He is the second Senate-confirmed Treasury official to depart this month, following the departure of former IRS Commissioner Billy Long. During his tenure, Faulkender led the Treasury transition team and was involved in developing tax policies in the tax and spending bill signed by Trump in July. (Jinshi)
