Coinbase Ventures purchased TON tokens directly from Telegram, becoming one of the TON token holders.

According to Odaily's Planet Daily, the TON Foundation announced on the X platform that Coinbase Ventures, the investment arm of Coinbase, has become a holder of Toncoin (TON). The tokens were purchased directly from Telegram, with the specific amount undisclosed. Manuel Stotz, Chairman of the TON Foundation, stated that this is a long-term investment and demonstrates support for TON. Early investors in TON include Sequoia Capital, Benchmark, and Ribbit Capital, with subsequent investors including Pantera Capital, Ryze Labs, and Animoca Brands. The TON ecosystem has recently received a surge in capital, including Verb Technology's announcement of a $558 million private placement to use TON as its primary treasury reserve asset, and TON developer The Open Platform's $28.5 million Series A funding round last month.
