On the afternoon of July 3, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the "Big and Beautiful" bill promoted by President Trump with 218 votes in favor and 214 votes against. The bill has been controversial because it will lead to cuts in federal aid, increase long-term debt, and cut taxes for the rich and large companies.
