FBI captures dark web hacker IntelBroker through $250 BTC sting operation

Odaily News British man Kai West was accused of using the alias IntelBroker to conduct activities on cybercrime forums and was prosecuted for allegedly selling stolen data. The case has caused more than $25 million in losses. The U.S. Attorneys Office for the Southern District of New York announced that it has prosecuted Kai West. According to information disclosed in the indictment, an undercover law enforcement officer sent a private message to IntelBroker to purchase a victims data for $250 worth of Bitcoin (BTC). The other party provided an address belonging to West. After the payment was completed, the other party delivered the data, which allegedly included three administrator-level usernames and passwords.
