Cetus: Negotiating with hackers to return assets
Odaily News The decentralized trading protocol Cetus released an update announcement on X, informing of the latest progress in handling the earlier attack incident. At present, the team has completed the location and repair of the source of the vulnerability, and has cooperated with the Sui team, third-party institutions and anti-cybercrime organizations to track funds and mark hacker wallets, and communicated with law enforcement agencies for assistance.
Cetus said: "We have confirmed the Ethereum wallet address controlled by the hacker involved, and proposed a "white hat settlement plan": if the hacker returns the remaining assets within the time limit, the hacker will be awarded a bounty of 2,324 ETH (about 6 million US dollars) and will no longer be held legally responsible. At present, the community still regards the recovery of damaged assets as its top priority, and a complete report on the incident will be released later."
