Odaily News In February, Hester Peirce, commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), sought opinions on how the newly established cryptocurrency working group should deal with cryptocurrency issues. Faryar Shirzad, chief policy officer of Coinbase, pointed out that Washington urgently needs to clarify the issue of cryptocurrency. The exchange has made four suggestions to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, one of which aims to clarify that "digital assets that do not represent any corporate rights are not securities" but should be classified as "digital commodities."
