US Congressman Begich announces plans to reintroduce Bitcoin bill in the House
2025-03-12 00:54

Odaily News On March 12, at the "Bitcoin For America" summit, Alaska Republican Congressman Nick Begich announced that he would introduce the Bitcoin Act of 2025 in the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill is an updated version of Senator Lummis' proposal last year, proposing that the United States acquire 1 million bitcoins (without increasing the burden on taxpayers) and protect the rights of American citizens to self-custody bitcoins.
“The bill explicitly protects the right of individuals to freely own, hold, and trade Bitcoin,” said Rep. Begich. “It recognizes self-custody as a fundamental right.” (Bitcoinmagazine)
