Coinbase security chief: The United States needs to establish a unified crypto fraud reporting platform
2025-03-11 03:08

Odaily News Coinbase Chief Security Officer Philip Martin called on the United States to integrate the current fragmented crypto fraud reporting system at the SXSW conference and establish a single platform to handle all reports.
Martin said that currently victims "feel like shouting into the void" when they report to multiple agencies such as the FBI's IC3, and a unified platform will help authorities more accurately grasp the scale of the problem and allocate resources more effectively.
He also stressed that most crypto scams originate from countries outside the United States, such as Myanmar and Laos, which poses difficulties in law enforcement and requires strengthened international cooperation to combat them. (Cointelegraph)
