After being pardoned, Silk Road founder Ulbrich appeared before a joint session of Congress

2025-03-05 23:46

Odaily News Silk Road founder Ross Ulbrich quickly returned to the public eye after receiving a pardon from President Trump and ending more than 11 years in prison. According to a social media post by Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie on March 4, Ulbrich was invited to attend the joint session of Congress that day to listen to President Trump's policy speech.
Since his release from prison in January, Ulbrich has been active on social media, not only thanking President Trump for his pardon, but also calling for amnesty for "Bitcoin Jesus" Roger Ver, who faces tax evasion charges. While there has been speculation that Ulbrich may be invited to attend the March 7 Crypto Summit at the White House, he has not been included on any official guest list as of press time.
It is worth noting that Ulbrich was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2015 for creating a darknet market that allowed users to buy and sell illegal drugs in 2011. According to the New York Times, Trump promised to reduce Ulbrich's sentence during the 2024 election to win the support of liberal voters. (Cointelegraph)
