Odaily News Commenting on the January PPI report, Paul Stanley, an analyst at Granite Bay Wealth Management, wrote that the Fed "has no reason to cut rates now." The 0.4% increase was higher than economists surveyed had expected, but lower than the 0.5% increase in December, which was revised upward. Prior to this, the CPI data released yesterday was also higher than expected. Stanley said: "The timing of the rise in inflation is special because the economy is preparing for tariffs, which may add another inflationary pressure if they continue." He added that fixed income investors may see an opportunity to lock in higher yields at this time. (Jinshi)
