Foreign media: At least three individuals related to Palantir or its co-founder Peter Thiel participated in DOGE recruitment at the end of last year
Odaily News The creation of Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) relied on a recruiting campaign, partly by young software engineers through online chat groups and Discord servers, three sources said. Some of the engineers were tied to data analytics company Palantir or its co-founder and board chairman (and Musk ally) Peter Thiel. At least three individuals tied to Palantir or Thiel were involved in DOGE’s online recruiting efforts late last year.
In online chat groups associated with Palantir alumni and SpaceX interns (Musk’s space company) and Discord servers associated with military artificial intelligence programs, engineers said they were looking for people willing to spend six months in Washington, D.C., to cut federal spending (about a quarter of U.S. gross domestic product) by a third.
Anthony Jancso, one of the three engineers involved in the recruitment, is a former Palantir employee. According to sources, Jancso said he was recruited to DOGE by Steve Davis, president of the Boring Company and Musk's deputy. Bloomberg reported in December last year that Davis was leading DOGE's recruitment efforts. (Wired)
