Odaily News An informal on-chain vote initiated by the Ethereum community supported Danny Ryan as the new leader of the foundation. Of the 296 wallets holding more than 50,000 ETH (worth about $160 million), 99% voted for Ryan, but the vote had no formal effect.
The poll is hosted at votedannyryan.com and is participated in through a simple approval voting system where individuals can vote for or against Ryan from their ETH wallet. The voting process is designed to be gas-free, allowing for wider community participation.
Fabrice Cheng, who calls himself an "Ethereum OG builder," created the voting website. According to Cheng, he launched the "votedannyryan" campaign and its associated website to "provide a peaceful and objective way" for the broader Ethereum community — ETH holders, stakers, and DeFi participants — to express their views.
