Japan’s SBI Network Bank offers security tokens to its customers

Odaily News This week, Japan’s SBI Network Bank (NEObank) began offering security tokens to its 7.7 million banking customers. This is part of a partnership with Mitsui & Co. Digital Asset Management, which launched a direct-to-consumer security token service, Alterna, last year. Alterna launched in mid-2023 and quickly partnered with another online bank, Sony Bank. It then partnered with department store operator J Front Retailing, which offers the JFR membership card. As part of the partnership, JFR cardholders can invest in Alterna in tranches.
