Ripple Chief Legal Officer: Expect the new government to drop digital asset cases and expect to see a more rational regulatory approach
2024-11-14 01:43
Odaily News With Trump's election and the Republican majority in the Senate, cryptocurrency companies are ready to advocate for a "new perspective" on federal agencies. Ripple, one of the cryptocurrency companies that has been engaged in court battles with U.S. regulators, expects the new White House administration to remove digital asset cases from court, hoping for changes within government agencies. "The SEC is a bureaucracy, but policy is people and people are policy," Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty said in an interview. "So if the administration changes some of the leadership at the SEC, hopefully we'll start to see a more rational approach that they're pursuing." Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal recently made a similar call after Trump's victory: "Please stop suing cryptocurrency companies." Coinbase and Ripple are among the largest donors to cryptocurrency candidates in this election. (Cointelegraph)
