Cardano founder: Developers plan to run Nintendo emulator on Hydra

2024-10-28 00:59
Odaily News Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently discussed Bitcoin and BitcoinOS (BOS), a smart contract operating system designed for Bitcoin that aims to provide advanced functionality and seamless interoperability. In a recent partnership announcement, Cardano and BOS teamed up to integrate the Grail bridge, establishing a connection between Cardano DeFi and Bitcoin's $1.3 trillion in liquidity. BOS said that the collaboration provides Cardano users and developers with secure, trustless access to Bitcoin assets, enhances cross-chain compatibility and enhances Cardano's DeFi potential. Hoskinson talked about BOS and Hydra in a recent interview and explored the possibility of using BOS and Cardano in conjunction with the Hydra L2 solution. Hydra improves Cardano's transaction efficiency and reduces latency by handling processes off-chain, supporting parallel transactions through "Hydra Heads" or state channels, allowing for faster interactions. During the discussion, Hoskinson mentioned that developers have successfully run the classic video game "Doom" on Hydra, with smart contracts verifying changes in the game state. This means that every action taken by the player - whether walking, shooting, or looking around - is recorded as a transaction through a smart contract call on the Hydra L2 chain. Hoskinson then said: "Next we will try to get the Nintendo emulator running on Hydra." (Bitcoin.com)
