Report: 47% of traditional hedge funds hold cryptocurrency positions

Odaily News As regulation of spot BTC and ETH exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States and Asia becomes clearer, nearly half of traditional hedge funds are beginning to dabble in digital assets. According to a survey conducted by the Alternative Investment Management Association and PwC, 47% of hedge fund managers trading in traditional markets have been exposed to cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrency investments increased by 62% in 2024 compared to 2023, when only 29% of hedge fund managers reported being involved in digital assets. In addition, all traditional hedge funds currently involved in the cryptocurrency field plan to maintain or expand their holdings. 67% of funds plan to keep cryptocurrency investments stable, while the remaining 33% of funds expect to increase their holdings in the near future.
