Odaily News Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin recently donated 100 ETH, worth about $240,000, to the legal defense fund of Tornado Cash developer Roman Storm. This is the third time Vitalik has donated to the defense fund. According to the Defend Roman Storm page, the legal defense fund has received 148 different payments totaling more than 327 ETH, worth about $785,000. Despite sanctions from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and legal pressure from U.S. officials, Tornado Cash mixer deposits reached approximately $1.9 billion in the first half of 2024. This is a 50% increase over deposits for the entire year of the previous year.
