US CFTC subcommittee proposes allowing companies to use tokenized stocks as collateral

2024-10-03 12:27
Odaily News Companies like BlackRock and Franklin Templeton could see tokenized shares of their money market funds traded after a major group backed by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) approved guidelines for the use of tokenized money market funds. A subcommittee of the CFTC's Global Markets Advisory Committee voted to send the recommendations to the full committee, which is expected to vote on them later this year, according to people familiar with the matter. The report did not reveal specific recommendations, but the mere act of sending the recommendations to the full committee could be seen as the next step. (Coindesk)
