Foreign media: OpenAI may reorganize its non-profit structure next year

Now, according to Reuters, the deal depends on whether OpenAI can restructure and remove profit caps for investors. And according to Fortune, co-founder and CEO Sam Altman told employees in a company-wide meeting that OpenAI's structure is likely to change next year to bring it closer to a traditional for-profit business. OpenAI's current structure is that its for-profit arm is controlled by a nonprofit organization, which seems to have disappointed investors. "We remain focused on building artificial intelligence that benefits everyone, and as we have said before, we are working with the board to ensure we can best accomplish our mission," OpenAI said in a statement.
