Luke Dashjr: Bitcoin community not active enough in updating spam filters

Odaily News Bitcoin core developer Luke Dashjr posted on X: “Seven years ago today, the Bitcoin community launched Segregated Witness (Segwit), even though Bitcoin Core refused to allow anyone other than miners to make decisions. Today, we encountered a similar situation when updating the spam filter. Sadly, the community is largely too complacent - or brainwashed - to take action. Bitcoin is not about blindly trusting a centralized maintenance team - that's the case with fiat currency. Decentralization requires active users who need to make their own decisions.”
