BlockTower Capital founder: The US SEC is expanding its crackdown on cryptocurrencies

Odaily News The founder of BlockTower Capital said that the SECs actions against venture capital mean that the agency is expanding its crackdown on cryptocurrencies. The agencys chief investment officer Ari Paul also said on the Unchained podcast on Wednesday that the SEC has launched a series of investigations into venture capital firms as unregistered securities dealers, and that discounted token deals reached by some venture capital firms with cryptocurrency projects have caused them to violate the regulators strict securities laws. This development would mark the latest escalation in the SECs crackdown on the digital asset industry.
