Coinbase Seeks Appellate Review of SEC Complaint, Citing Binance Ruling

Odaily News Paul Grewal, chief legal officer of Coinbase, posted on the X platform that Coinbase has filed a motion with Judge Katherine Polk Failla seeking an appellate review of the case filed by the SEC against it. The motion cited Judge Jackson's recent ruling in the SEC v. Binance case, which rejected the SEC's claim that secondary market transactions of BNB tokens on Binance were investment contracts, while the SEC filed similar charges against Coinbase for unregistered securities sales. Paul Grewal said that the result of the US SEC's focus on litigation is that crypto market participants face different rules in different courts.
