Odaily News Cathie Wood's ARK Investment Management has purchased some shares in Elon Musk's xAI company. ARK's chief futurist Brett Winton said that ARK Venture Fund's xAI shares account for about 2% of the fund's total assets. Last month, the fund disclosed that 4.38% of its total assets were invested in OpenAI shares and 5.1% in Anthropic shares, the company behind the Claude AI model. It is reported that ARK Venture Fund has a net asset size of nearly US$60 million. (Bloomberg) Earlier news, Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI announced the completion of a US$6 billion Series B financing, with Valor Equity Partners, Vy Capital, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Sequoia Capital, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal and his Kingdom Holding participating. The funds from this round of financing will be used to bring xAI's first products to market, build advanced infrastructure, and accelerate the research and development of future technologies.
