Maker founder: PureDa, a stablecoin that is loyal to the initial vision of the protocol, will be launched outside of NewStable
2024-05-16 01:31
Odaily News Rune Christensen, founder of Maker, posted on the X platform that as a supplement to NewStable, to meet the needs of users who prefer a purely decentralized vision, Maker is expected to launch another purely decentralized stablecoin, PureDai. In the future, users holding DAI will be able to upgrade DAI to NewStable or PureDai. The conversion of NewStable is expected to be launched in the short term, and PureDai is expected to be released in a few years. PureDai will be a purely decentralized over-collateralized (supporting ETH and stETH) stablecoin that will only be deployed to the Ethereum mainnet, relying on decentralized oracles to operate, and has no governance or other budgets. PureDai will be released in an immutable form, which means that the token will not require further upgrades or changes from the moment it is released, and will be completely independent of Maker. Rune added that PureDai will be used as a temporary name for the token until PureDai determines its new brand.
