Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission: Ready to accept applications for virtual asset spot ETFs

Odaily News The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority said that the two institutions have reviewed the current policies for intermediaries wishing to engage in virtual asset-related activities. In addition to the existing virtual asset futures ETFs, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission said it is ready to accept authorization applications from other funds involved in virtual assets, including virtual asset spot exchange-traded funds (VA spot ETFs). In a separate notice issued today , the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission stipulates the requirement for funds to invest directly in the same spot VA tokens that the Hong Kong public can trade on a Virtual Asset Trading Platform (VATP) licensed by the Securities and Futures Commission.
