Google fixes new Chrome zero-day vulnerability, recommends users to upgrade in time

Odaily News security company Bleeping Computer released a report stating that Google released an emergency security update to fix the fourth Chrome zero-day vulnerability that has been exploited in attacks since the beginning of this year. Google revealed in a security advisory released on Monday that it is aware of the CVE-2023-4863 zero-day vulnerability being used in wild attacks. The new version is currently rolling out to users in the Stable and Extended Stable channels, and is expected to reach the entire user base in the coming days and weeks. Google recommends that Chrome users upgrade their web browser to 116.0.5845.187 (Mac and Linux) and 116.0.5845.187/.188 (Windows) as it has fixed the CVE-2023-4863 vulnerability on Windows, Mac and Linux systems. Google said access to vulnerability details and links may be limited until the fix is applied to most users.
