Odaily News: Christine Kim, Vice President of Galaxy Research, summarized the 114th Ethereum Core Developers Consensus Meeting (ACDC).
The meeting discussed the progress of Deneb testing. Devnet #8 is expected to be released later next week or early the week after. Ethereum Foundation researcher Hsiao-Wei Wang is preparing a new version of the CL code specification for Devnet #8, which will be ready for the client teams before July 31st.
Due to developers' anticipation for a dedicated testnet that includes all Deneb and Cancun-related EIPs, Danny Ryan emphasized the importance of testing MEV-Boost-related software as well as CL and EL client versions.
Parithosh Jayanthi, a DevOps engineer at the Ethereum Foundation, along with another DevOps engineer, is working on various Hive tests specifically designed for MEV-Boost. As of July 27th, the updates to the Builder specification have not been merged into the new version yet, which will be used for testing on Devnet #8 or other Cancun/Deneb testnets. Ethereum Foundation researcher Alex Stokes stated that the earlier the CL and EL specifications for the Cancun/Deneb upgrade are finalized, the sooner the new specifications for MEV-Boost software will be determined.
Furthermore, the next consensus layer (CL) upgrade Electra may consider incorporating two EIPs. One of them, EIP-6914, proposes a code change that allows for reusing the validator index of validators who have fully exited the beacon chain to alleviate computational burden on CL nodes. EIP-6110 adds new validator deposits to EL blocks, enabling deposit handling and verification responsibility on EL instead of CL, thereby enhancing the security of validator deposits and optimizing the user experience for validators.
