Odaily News: Layer2 interoperability protocol Connext has launched the cross-chain token standard xERC20 to reduce liquidity costs and improve the security of bridged tokens.
xERC20 (ERC7281) allows token issuers to: manage bridges, set minting limits, and enable selected bridges to mint identical tokens. In addition, Connext states that projects deploying xERC20s via Connext today will be fully compatible with the finalized ERC-7281 specification, enabling 1:1 token transfers with 0 slippage across chains.
It is reported that DeFi lending protocol Alchemix Finance has adopted this standard.
