Grayscale sent a letter to the US SEC, seeking its approval to convert GBTC into a Bitcoin ETF
Grayscale said in the letter: "We believe that Teucrium's order confirms a fundamental point... There is no basis for treating bitcoin spot products differently from bitcoin futures products when approving (exchange-traded products)."
Craig Salm, Grayscale’s chief legal officer, added that after Teucrium’s approval, the SEC “effectively lost the ability to use the distinction between futures ETFs and spot ETFs as a reason to reject funds tied to physical bitcoin.” The SEC declined to comment. (FT)

Encrypted KOL Cobie Questions ApeCoin Pledge Governance Proposal, Says Related Funds Have Better Uses
News encryption KOL Cobie believes that the ApeCoin pledge governance proposal may not be the best way for the token to develop.
Cobie went on to question ApeCoin’s new staking proposal, which aims to reward holders who stake their tokens over the next three years, with tokens worth 17.5% of ApeCoin’s total supply. According to the proposal, the move will incentivize “early NFT adopters as well as existing and potential ecosystem participants to participate in activities that benefit the APE ecosystem.”
Cobie questioned the rationale behind this decision, given that the ApeCoinDao Treasury currently holds tokens worth around $7 billion, and said the proposal hopes to give away $2.6 billion in tokens for free to asset holders over the next three years (approx. 37% of the remaining DAO tokens).
He suggested that DAOs could use these funds to meet the needs of existing users, to acquire and incubate utilities, establish revenue streams, and create sustainable DAOs.
