Japan Adds Russian Crypto Exchange Garantex to Sanctions List

Odaily reports: The Japanese government has expanded sanctions against Russia, adding Russian cryptocurrency exchange Garantex to its asset freeze list, restricting payments and capital transactions with sanctioned entities.

The newly added asset freeze targets include 33 Russia-related organizations and 9 individuals, as well as restrictions on maintenance, insurance, and other services for 35 "shadow fleet" vessels identified as involved in transporting Russian crude oil.

Garantex had previously been sanctioned by the United States, the European Union, and other jurisdictions. (Cointelegraph)
