Google Invests $15.2 Billion in Finland AI Infrastructure
Odaily News: Google (GOOG.O) has announced plans to invest at least $15.2 billion in Finland's digital infrastructure over the next two years, which will become one of the largest technology investments in Finland's history. Finnish President Alexander Stubb stated that this investment reflects a combination of multiple factors, including abundant clean energy, a secure operating environment, and a growing technology industry, all of which are making Finland an increasingly popular destination for AI infrastructure development.
"Companies decide for themselves where to invest in building data centers, and we are of course very pleased that Google has made this investment," Stubb said. "They are doing so because we can provide clean energy — 95% of our electricity is clean energy. It is also because we have security systems capable of defending against various cyberattacks. And of course, because of our relatively cold climate." (Fox News)
