从ANSEM到CZ，Solana和BSC的「名人幣」接力賽

The past week may have been the most eventful week on-chain. And it all started with $ANSEM, which rocketed to a $100 million market cap in 24 hours, achieving an astonishing 600x increase within a single day.

Ansem's Return: The Spark That Ignited the On-Chain Frenzy

On June 9th, crypto KOL Ansem claimed he was returning to buy Solana meme coins for the first time in over a year. Recently, he repeatedly mentioned the pump.fun airdrop, frequently interacting with pump.fun's tweets to suggest they release the airdrop now. He also publicly mentioned this on the Market Bubble podcast:

Starting June 21st, he began frequently promoting the concept of "RTM (Return to Meme)."

At that time, however, no one anticipated the start of this market movement, let alone that it would be ignited by a "celebrity coin" like $ANSEM. Initially, Ansem's popularity was mainly due to his role as a "meme advocate." He took the lead in suggesting an airdrop to pump.fun amidst the prolonged slump in meme coin activity, believing it could re-liquefy the market.

It wasn't until Ansem stated on X that he would randomly select lucky winners weekly and airdrop his creator revenue to those who retweeted his post, followed him on pump.fun, and left their pump.fun profile link in the comments. This "soft claim" ignited the emotions of on-chain players.

At the time, many on-chain players felt a sense of déjà vu, reminiscent of when OpenSea delayed its token launch, leading to OpenDAO ($SOS) airdropping tokens to NFT players. In both cases, a KOL took the lead, capitalizing on the players' long-standing frustrations.

However, our assessment was, "It's hard to say if Ansem genuinely intended to return to the trenches as a pure meme hero. Ansem is no longer just a legendary meme coin player or a crypto KOL. He is now also the co-founder of the trading terminal, Bullpen."

This assessment proved correct, judging by Ansem's later creation of a $ANSEM airdrop claim page on Bullpen. Even when he stepped forward to claim the token, he likely already planned to use it as the best advertisement for his trading platform.

Narrative Whiplash in a Week

After $ANSEM broke the $100 million market cap, the narrative quickly shifted from "fighting pump.fun and launching airdrops" to "celebrity coins."

In this context, "celebrity coins" refers to the practice of sending tokens (ticker symbols matching the crypto KOLs) representing 60% or more of the supply to the public addresses of famous individuals, waiting for them to tweet and claim them. Shortly after $ANSEM broke the $100 million mark, $TJR emerged, briefly reaching a market cap near $30 million and was considered the secondary leader.

However, TJR effectively ended all chances of $TJR becoming the runner-up during a live stream that same night. He stated that the fragmentation was detrimental and urged everyone to refocus their attention on $ANSEM, aiming to push its market cap to $1 billion.

This caused $TJR to plummet and never recover, but it also prevented further fragmentation, directing attention and capital back to $ANSEM.

Following this, the hype for new "celebrity coin" launches temporarily cooled, and attention turned to specific projects favored by Ansem. Projects like the US equity stablecoin project Nest and the Solana-based game Kintara saw gains during this phase.

Subsequently, everyone zeroed in on Ansem's public wallet address. $manlet appeared in one of Ansem's tweets showcasing his wallet. Following the tweet, its market cap rapidly surged from $3 million to over $13 million, briefly exceeding $25 million that night.

Overall, after the $TJR incident, the trend on Solana lacked a clear direction, and $ANSEM's liquidity didn't significantly spill over into other narratives. One would expect the strategy of simply copying Ansem's holdings, as seen with $manlet, to have been quickly captured by the market, but earlier tweets from Ansem didn't trigger the same level of hype:

Since the relay race for new tokens on Solana was not going well, it was BSC's turn to take over.

Market Rotation to BSC

Yesterday morning at 5 AM UTC, a tweet by CZ from 2021 was unearthed. This tweet, similar to the "Big Black Bull" image associated with $ANSEM, contained CZ's words from five years prior: "Everyone knows I'm a bull, but you've never seen my final form."

Consequently, $CZ suddenly saw a massive surge, experiencing a nearly 200x increase within an hour. Even though everyone recognized that CZ wouldn't personally dive in like Ansem, tweeting constantly and distributing airdrops, the coin still pumped. Moreover, this token managed to withstand the pressure from identically named competing tokens and a rapid price correction following the surge (plummeting from approximately $40 million to under $6 million market cap in just one hour), eventually recovering to nearly $90 million market cap.

The token most resembling $ANSEM on BSC was $TCC, primarily because tokens were sent to @TCryptochicks, who also actively promoted the coin on X. It garnered significant attention due to CZ's frequent interactions with him on X, creating an impression that "this is the BSC Ansem endorsed by CZ":

The phenomenon of "ambushing celebrities" is unfolding on BSC as well. This morning, $dingaling was FOMO'd to a $5 million market cap without receiving a claim. It then dropped rapidly and currently holds a market cap of less than $300,000.

Currently, sentiment on BSC is stronger than on Solana, especially for participants in token launches. BSC's pace is faster and currently offers more opportunities than Solana. It remains uncertain how the trends on both chains will evolve, but hopefully, new narratives capable of sustaining the "celebrity coin" momentum will emerge.
