Odaily News, Attorney Ariel Givner stated that hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger is facing a class action lawsuit in New York. The complaint alleges that a security incident in December 2023 exposed customers' personally identifiable information, including names, email addresses, and phone numbers, and that the company failed to disclose this promptly and fully. Hackers subsequently used the contact information to impersonate officials, tricking customers into approving fraudulent transactions and stealing crypto assets. The relevant information also leaked onto the dark web.
