Odaily News: In an interview on August 25, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibabadi stated that Iran remains in a state of war, and the Strait of Hormuz is under the full control and surveillance of Iran's armed forces. It will not be reopened unless Iran agrees, approves, and arranges for it. Gharibabadi also warned that in defense of national security and national interests, if conditions are appropriate, Iran could take "preemptive" action against U.S. targets without waiting for the U.S. to strike first before defending itself.
