World Liberty Financial responds to conflict of interest allegations: Never discussed business matters with Trump

2026-08-25 14:43

Odaily Planet Daily News: Zach Witkoff, CEO of World Liberty Financial (WLF), a crypto project linked to the Trump family, stated that the market performance and actual usage of the USD1 stablecoin prove that the project does not have the conflict of interest issues raised by outside critics.

In an interview with CNBC, Zach Witkoff said that USD1's circulating supply has exceeded $4 billion, with trading volume surpassing $1 billion in the past 24 hours. "The actual user usage and liquidity demonstrate the real demand for USD1." In response to external concerns that corporations or countries might funnel money to Trump and his family through USD1, Zach Witkoff responded that such concerns are overstated, emphasizing that he has never discussed business matters with President Trump and never will, and is currently focused on enhancing the actual value of WLF products for users. Stablecoins are becoming the native payment layer of the internet, and "the dollar should also flow around the clock," adding that USD1 will play an important role in the development of digital financial infrastructure. Meanwhile, World Liberty Financial still faces ongoing scrutiny from some U.S. politicians regarding its overseas investments, political connections, and commercial interest arrangements. (CNBC)
