Qualcomm will raise chip prices starting September, with a double-digit increase

Odaily Planet Daily News During Qualcomm's earnings conference call, CEO Cristiano Amon stated that the company plans to increase chip product prices starting September 1, with a double-digit percentage increase, in order to drive profit margins back to historical levels.

Amon said the price increase is mainly due to rising costs across the entire supply chain, not just the impact of memory chip price increases. Qualcomm will conduct pricing negotiations with customers on a case-by-case basis.

He noted that there is currently a phased mismatch between costs and product pricing, leading to a slight short-term decline in gross margins.
