Metaplanet acquires Siiibo Securities, plans to build a Bitcoin fixed-income market in Japan

Odaily Planet Daily News: Japanese listed company Metaplanet has acquired Siiibo Securities, which holds a Class 1 financial instruments business license, and has been approved to design and sell securities in Japan. Research firm Benchmark points out that the market generally views this acquisition, worth approximately 2.1 billion yen (about 13 million US dollars), as a small-scale expansion. However, Metaplanet actually plans to use this as a foundation to issue Bitbonds, Bitcoin-collateralized bonds with annual yields of around 4% to 6%, and subsequently migrate them on-chain, settle via stablecoins, and gradually form a secondary market.
