SoftBank’s $40 Billion OpenAI Investment Loan Adds 21 New Lenders
Odaily Planet Daily News According to sources familiar with the matter, SoftBank Group's $40 billion bridge loan raised for investing in OpenAI has attracted 21 new lending institutions to join during the broader syndication phase. The sources stated that these new lenders collectively obtained approximately $7 billion of the loan facility. Among them, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Singapore's GIC, and Standard Chartered Bank each subscribed for nearly $1 billion in shares. The remaining funds were allocated to some banks from Europe, Japan, and the Taiwan region of China. Sources indicated that the remaining $33 billion of the bridge loan is currently still held by underwriters and senior lenders, but further syndication may take place in the future. (Jin Shi)
