Jiang Guoli, Director of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, stated that since 2023, China has strengthened police cooperation with Myanmar to comprehensively eradicate large-scale telecom fraud parks along the northern Myanmar border. A total of over 59,000 suspected fraud criminals have been captured and handed over, completely dismantling the notorious "Four Families" criminal syndicate in Kokang, northern Myanmar. In early 2025, China, Myanmar, and Thailand established a ministerial-level coordination mechanism for jointly combating telecom fraud crimes, launching a joint crackdown on fraud activities in Myawaddy.
