Odaily Planet Daily News The U.S. Pentagon announced the signing of a corporate software agreement with Oracle worth a total of nearly $7 billion, with a term of up to 10 years, consolidating the Department of Defense's existing on-premise software licenses into a unified contract to reduce costs from decentralized procurement. The agreement was negotiated by the U.S. Department of the Navy with a 5-year term and includes a 5-year renewal option, covering the U.S. Department of Defense, the Coast Guard, and intelligence agencies. Previously, in May of this year, the Pentagon signed a similar software integration agreement worth $96.9 billion with Microsoft for a 5-year term. (Reuters)
