Strait of Hormuz shipping traffic recovers to nearly 60% of pre-conflict levels
Odaily reported that S&P Global Ratings released a report on the 25th, stating that 78 ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz on the 24th, setting a new single-day record since the outbreak of the Iran conflict. The average daily shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz this month has recovered to about 57% of pre-conflict levels.
The report noted that as of the 24th, a total of 551 ships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz this month, making it poised to become the month with the highest traffic since the conflict began. The report pointed out that vessels departing the Strait of Hormuz recently include not only those that had been stranded for a long time due to the conflict but also newly entering ships, reflecting initial signs of normalization in shipping activity.
However, it remains to be seen whether this recovery in strait traffic can be sustained, as the relevant agreements still need to be further consolidated and implemented. (Xinhua News Agency)
