Strategist: US-Iran Conflict May End in May, Not June as Previously Expected
Odaily News According to strategists at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, the US-Iran conflict may end in May, not June as previously expected. Although the ceasefire does not end the war, analysts view it as the beginning of the end. In a report, the analyst stated that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz indicates substantial progress is being made towards a peace agreement. He added that although the plans proposed by the US and Iran appear severely incompatible, reaching a ceasefire suggests that, given Iran's strategic leverage has not significantly diminished and US allies remain reluctant to provide assistance, the US is tentatively open to compromise. He further noted that the economic consequences of the war are continuing to accumulate, and if negotiations break down due to political constraints, the market will react strongly negatively.
