Odaily News: In an interview on August 25, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibabadi stated that Iran remains in a state of war, and the Strait of Hormuz is under the full control and surveillance of the Iranian Armed Forces. It will not be reopened unless Iran agrees, approves, and arranges for it. Gharibabadi also warned that, in order to defend national security and national interests, if conditions are appropriate, Iran may take "preemptive" action against U.S. targets, without having to wait for the U.S. to strike first before defending itself.
