Robinhood CEO urges Trump to loosen U.S. "tokenization" regulation at White House meeting
Odaily News: Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev this morning called on Trump directly at a White House cryptocurrency meeting to ease U.S. "tokenization" regulation.
Vlad said: "Robinhood is using tokenization technology to expand ownership of U.S. assets to users in over 120 countries worldwide. Yet this innovation is reaching international investors before it benefits American investors at home. This opportunity extends far beyond public markets—tokenization will open up markets that have long been out of reach for everyday investors, including private companies (unlisted firms). In today's market, too much economic value is created before ordinary investors even get the chance to participate."
Vlad called for action: "Innovation and investor protection are not opposing goals. America became the global capital markets leader precisely by balancing both. The SEC and CFTC chairs here today know that it is American companies building this technology, American markets powering it, and American assets at its core. U.S. investors should not be the last to benefit. We look forward to continuing to work together to expand ownership, build the next generation of capital markets, and ensure America stays ahead on this path."
