美联储会议纪要:沃什推动减少年内政策会议次数
The Federal Reserve meeting minutes show that Chairman Warsh proposed an idea: to reduce the number of Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) policy meetings per year from 8 to 6.
The minutes noted: "The Chairman pointed out that holding 6 meetings per year, approximately every two months, would allow more information to accumulate between meetings than the current schedule, while also providing policymakers and Fed staff with more time for research and consideration of strategic monetary policy issues."
Afterwards, Warsh solicited committee members' opinions on this idea. The minutes clearly stated that the number of meetings will not be adjusted this year. Reducing the number of policy meetings would represent a major change in how the Fed operates. (Jin Shi)
